Edmodo For The Classroom

The first video I watched was about the educational tool Edmodo. The video showed how to create polls, quizzes, and assignments on Edmodo. The next video showed how to create a classroom or group for one's students to join. I think this tool is really awesome. I learned that my students have to make an account in order to join the class I create. I also learned that you can set a date for when things are due and see exactly who has done each task. I also love the idea of making quizzes on here. Quizzes are very simple to make on and I can see when each student takes it. It lets you set a date the quiz is due, assign how much each question is worth, assign how much the whole quiz is worth, and give a certain amount of time to complete the quiz. I think that Edmodo would be great for quizzes in the classroom. I think it would be easy to assign and the students could even take the quiz at home giving more time in the classroom for other things. It would also make grading a lot easier because it automatically grades the quiz for you. I plan to explore Edmodo and see what other applications may work well in the classroom. The poll application may be one that I use after further exploration.
